Pastor Sarah is an Elder in the New England Annual Conference. She has served congregations in East Douglas, Sudbury, Lynn, Reading, Rockport, and Medford, Massachusetts before coming to South Walpole. Sarah earned her M.Div. at the Divinity School of Duke University and recently completed a Ph.D. in liturgy and sociology of religion at Boston University School of Theology. Her dissertation topic is about 19th Century New England Camp Meetings. Sarah teaches worship on the staff of Local Pastors' Licensing School.
Originally coming from Central New York State, Sarah lived in the Pioneer Valley of Western, MA for eight years and was an active member of Wesley UMC in Amherst. While there she earned her B.A. at Hampshire College and worked at Greenfield Child Care Center and Clarke School for the Deaf.
Sarah loves to travel, has been to Great Britain several times and spent a year as an exchange student studying theology at the University of Bonn, Germany. Pastor Sarah is married to Joseph Elewononi and they have two young daughters, Grace and Salem. They like to hike and picnic, visit museums and spend time with family.
